Reggie O’Neal Lott

Funeral services for Mr. Reggie O’Neal Lott were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, June 17, 2023, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Prentiss Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Brewer will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Tim Bedwell. Mr. Lott, age 91, entered into the eternal rest of his Lord early Tuesday morning, June 13, 2023, surrounded by his family, at the Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss.
The Lott family received friends Friday evening, June 16, from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers were Kurt Stuessi, Tyler Stuessi, Clay Clanton, Tony Henson, Justin Roberson and Mike Whitehead.
Honorary pallbearers included David Williams, Tracy Lott, Bill McNease, Walker Whitehead, Douglas O’Neal Clanton and Corey Whitehead.
Reggie Lott was born on May 6, 1932, in Lamar County to Clarence and Gladys Williamson Lott. A beloved member of our community, he was an insurance adjuster with State Farm Insurance for over 30 years.
Mr. Lott finished high school at Carson and joined the United States Navy, where he proudly served for 4 years. After his discharge from the military, he took his beautiful Patsy as his bride. For many years, they lived in Pearl and raised a wonderful family before moving back home to Prentiss in 1991. In addition to family time, Reggie also enjoyed several hobbies. He had a passion for fishing and took pride in raising his garden right up until he was 90 years old. A die-hard fan of Louis L’Amour, he loved reading as well as watching Westerns. In addition to his Westerns, Mr. Lott enjoyed a good cup of coffee, complete with 2 packets of Sweet-n-Low. He was a member of Carson Methodist Church.
Throughout his life, Reggie held dear his love for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He cherished every moment spent with them.
Mr. Lott was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Gladys Lott; his brothers, Ray, Gerald and Leroy Lott and his sister, Marie Williams and infant sister, Baby Girl Lott.
His memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife of 66 years, Patsy Whitehead Lott of Prentiss; three daughters, Vicki Bunch of Prentiss, Elaine Stuessi (Kurt) of Murphreesboro, Tennessee, Mandy Clanton (Clay) of Meadville; his brother, DeLeon Lott of Carson and his sister, June McNease of Carson. Mr. Lott was also Pop to his grandson, Tyler Stuessi (Amanda) and Pawpaw to his great-grandson and namesake, Douglas O’Neal Clanton.
