Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at Prentiss First Missionary Baptist Church in Prentiss for Mr. James Kenneth Jackson, 66, who passed away on Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, in Covington County. Rev. Ronnie Barnes officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is the son of the late Nora Grace Davis Jackson. He was a member of Prentiss First Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Jackson served in the United States Army and was a Mason. He enjoyed gardening, his pets, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by Ontario Jackson, his sister’s son whom he raised; sisters, Charlene (Theodis) Weaver of Pomona, California; Judy L. Wilson and Alice J. Jackson both of Chicago, Illinois; Debra Baptiste of Prentiss; and Ruth L. (Paul) Walker-Loftin of Mt. Olive; brothers, Herbert (Monique) Jackson of Los Angeles, California; Sherron (Daphne) Jackson of Frankfort, Kentucky; Jeffery Mac (Regina) Jackson of Nashville, Tennessee and many other relatives and friends.
