Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Eloise Booth McGilvery, 79 Bassfield, were held on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at 11 a.m. from Progress Missionary Baptist Church in Bassfield. Interment  was in the church cemetery.  Rev. Johnnie Porter was the Eulogist.  Reeves Funeral Home, Inc. Mount Olive, was in charge of the arrangements.

Honorary pallbearers were Demarus McGilvery, Darius Thomas, Alvli Moore, Demarrio Bass and Charles Cameron III.

Pallbearers were  Will Graves, Marvin Easterling, Tedera Graves, Thomas Booth Jr., Sean McCleod and Vick Myers.

Flower bearers were  family members.

Mrs. McGilvery led a beautiful life surrounded by family and friends. She was a faithful member of Progress Missionary Baptist Church. 

She spent her early years living between Bassfield and New Orleans, Louisiana.  However, her later years were spent in her beloved town of Bassfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, D.T. Booth and Elnora Ball. 

Survivors include her children, Phyllis Bass, Donald Bass, Minister Deborah Bass-Harper, Robert Earl Bass Jr, and Sonya McGilvery.  Her seven grandchildren were the light of her life and she adored and loved her seven great grandchildren.

She leaves to mourn her passing with a host of family and friends.
