Sis Coulter Douglas

Funeral services for Sis Coulter Douglas were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, Sept. 20, 2023, at Whitesand Baptist Church with interment following in the Whitesand Cemetery. The Rev. Ted Bowlin officiated.  Mrs. Douglas, age 91, entered the eternal rest of her Lord Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at her residence.  Saulters Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.

The family received friends Wednesday morning, Sept. 20, beginning at 9 a.m. until the hour of service at Whitesand Baptist Church.

Serving as pallbearers were Kendrick Coulter, Dustin Gilbert, Colby Stewart, Mikie Pittman, Scott Parish and Marshall Pittman.

Sis was born on August 13, 1932 in Covington County to Walter and Edna Ainsworth Hollway.  Having grown up in the Lone Star Community, she has been a resident of this area all of her life and worked for the New Hebron Manufacturing Company for many years.  Sis, as she was affectionately called, had several past times that she immensely enjoyed including working in her flowers and gardening.  She also loved to quilt and many of her beautiful quilts are now treasured keepsakes of her family.  Sis also loved children dearly and was a Sunday School teacher in the children’s department as she served her Lord at the Whitesand Baptist Church.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Sis is preceded in death by her husbands, Ray Coulter and Charles Douglas.

She is survived by her two sons, Bill Coulter, (Darnell) of New Hebron, Jerry Coulter of Prentiss; her brother, Bob Holloway of Canton, Texas; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
