Graveside services were held Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at Prentiss First Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Prentiss, for Mr. Jimmy Hicks, 73, who passed away on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Rev. Ronald Barnes officiated.

He is the son of the late Junior and Eloise Hicks. He was a member of Prentiss First Missionary Baptist Church

Mr. Hicks was a retired brick mason who enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, shooting dice and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Oakland Raiders fan.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Hicks of Bassfield; sons, Jimmy Hicks Jr. of Jackson; Anthony Hicks and Jeremiah (Christina) Hicks both of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughters, Ramona Steele of Collins; Charlynda Hicks of Hattiesburg; brother, Larry Hicks of Prentiss; sisters, Mary Hooker of Prentiss; Brenda Washington of Hattiesburg; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
