Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at New Jerusalem Apostolic Church in Bassfield, for Mr. John Lewis Harris Sr., 50, who passed away on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg.

Rev. Melvin Hudson officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is the son of Mr. Lawrence and Mrs. Lydia Harris.

He attended New Jerusalem Apostolic Church in Bassfield.

Mr. Harris was a truck driver who loved detailing automobiles and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his son, John Harris Jr. of Bassfield; daughter, Precious Harris of Bassfield; father, Lawrence Harris of California; mother, Lydia Harris of Carson; brothers, Lonnie Harris of Prentiss; Steve Harris of Texas; Troy Harris of California; sisters, Darlene Harris of Las Vegas, Nevada; Tammy Harris, Kendra Harris and Claudette Harris all of California and one grandchild.
