Due to the extreme cold and dangerous icy driving conditions  all JDC schools and Prentiss Christian School will remain closed tomorrow, Jan. 17. All athletic events will be rescheduled.

All Jefferson Davis County governmental offices will have a late opening at 10 a.m.

Weather conditions are still unfavorable and will continue throughout tonight with the prediction of temperatures as low as 11 degrees.

‘Please avoid any unnecessary travel during this time,” said JDC Emergency Management Director Jocelyn Ragsdale.

“Take the time to check on and assist the elderly residents in your community as well as take care of pets during these weather conditions. As in any event, preparedness saves lives.”
