Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at China Lee Baptist Church in Silver Creek, for Mr. Alvin Gardner, 70, who died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at his residence in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Rev. Jerry Earl officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. 

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Alvin Gardner was born to the late Woodrow and Celester Gardner.

He received his education in New Orleans Public School System and graduated from Francis T. Nicholls and pursued further education in electrical work at Delgado Community College.

He was a member of China Lee Baptist Church in Silver Creek.

He is survived by his daughter, Marisa (Darryl) Carter; son, Imani Carter; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Isadell Castle; Brothers, Talman Gardner, Freddie Gardner and Ira (Cheryl) Gardner all of New Orleans, Louisiana many other relatives and friends. ‘
