The Prentiss Fire Department will be hosting its fourth annual Remembrance Walk March 29, Good Friday.
This, of course, is in remembrance of the walk Jesus Christ took on his way to be crucified. Participants will be carrying a wooden cross throughout the walk.
“Let this be an open invitation to all surrounding first responders and anyone that would like to participate is welcome to,” said Prentiss Fire Chief Wayne Bass.
The walk will start at the Ronald Wayne Jones Memorial Complex on Highway 184 at 8 a.m. and travel down Columbia Ave. ending at the Jefferson Davis County Courthouse in downtown Prentiss.
Event coordinator Michael Davis asks that participants arrive by 7:30 a.m. Friday morning. Donuts and coffee will be available for those in attendance.
“A special thanks to Mayor Charley Dumas and the Prentiss Board of Aldermen for giving us this opportunity again. Let’s come together in remembrance of the one who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that one day we may have everlasting life.”
