Flora Irene Reynolds was born on Jan. 8, 1933, in New Hebron to Woodrow Wilson and Betty Rebecca Polk Scarborough.

In 1957, she began her career at Kellwood Garment Manufacturing where she dedicated many years of service. In addition to this, she also worked as a cook for an offshore drilling company. However, it was her role as a private sitter for the elderly in the community that truly showcased her kind and caring nature.

Mrs. Reynolds had a green thumb and a passion for gardening. Her yard was a stunning display of roses, lilies, and hydrangeas – a true testament to her love for nature and beauty.

A proud member of the New Hebron Chapter of the Eastern Star, Flora served as a Worthy Matron, embodying the values of friendship, charity, and loyalty.

Throughout her life, Flora cherished her family above all else. Her home was always filled with love and laughter, serving as a gathering place for cherished family activities. Her children have fond memories of Friday night hamburgers and her grandchildren will forever remember her delicious “cheese and macaroni” as well as her prized dressing.

A lifelong resident of New Hebron, Mrs. Reynolds attended school at Old Hebron and remained deeply rooted in her community throughout her life. For many years, she was the oldest member of Old Hebron Baptist Church and also served as a Sunday School teacher for the Ladies Class.
