Funeral services were held Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Jordan Hill Baptist Church in Carson, for Mr. John Earl Donaldson, 77, who died Saturday, July 6, 2024, at his residence. 

Rev. Jerry Bryant officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. 

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. John E. Donaldson was born to the late Carl Sr. and Mary Eloise Donaldson in Jefferson Davis County.

Johnny as he was affectionately called attended J. E. Johnson.

He joined South Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Jordan Hill Baptist Church where he was a faithful usher and former church van driver.

Mr. Donaldson worked on the pipeline until retirement and later began farming with his brother, S. L. and brother-in-law, Braxton.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, S. L., Carl Jr., and Harold; sisters, Sadie Davis, Louise Graber, Mary H. Norwood and Carolyn Jefferson.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Donaldson; two sons, Johnny (Stacey) Donaldson of Bolton and Johnny Sterling (Veronica) Williams of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren; Camaryn, Cailyn and Johnathen; four step-children, Tasha Macks, Mario Macks, Mary Reese and Asha Reese all of Prentiss; one sister, Bobbie Jean Bridges of New Orleans, Louisiana; four brothers, Parry Donaldson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Larry (Jeanette) Donaldson and Vickey Donaldson both of Silver Creek; Carl Ralph Donaldson of Gautier and many other relatives and friends.
