There is currently a gas leak in Prentiss on Lafayette Street near Columbia Avenue.

The Piggly Wiggly and Family Dollar stores have been evacuated, as well as several store fronts on Columbia Avenue.

CenterPoint Energy is on the scene. All residents are asked to avoid the area.
