A power company employee was killed Tuesday afternoon in Prentiss.

Jayton Stahlhut with EXO was inspecting power poles at the water plant on Ray Street in Prentiss when he came in contact with a live wire and was electrocuted just after 4 p.m.

His co-worker immediately began CPR until the ambulance arrived.

He was transported to Jefferson Davis Community Hospital where he died.

EXO was sub-contracted by Southern Pine to handle the inspections.

Stahlhut was married and was from Checotah, Oklahoma.
