Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, at North Silver Creek Baptist Church in New Hebron, for Mr. Ja’Quan Ty’Reke Leroy Davis, 19, who died Monday, July 15, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo..  Rev. Willie Young officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ja’Quan Davis was born to Jermaine Beason and Julia Davis. He received his formal education in Jefferson Davis County Public Schools.  He graduated from Jefferson Davis County School Class of 2023.  He was a member of the Junior Beta Club, played football and received numerous awards during his high school years. He attended church services at many churches.

He is survived by his mother, Julia Davis; father, Jermaine Beason both of Prentiss; three sisters, Ja’Kyriona Davis, Ja’Myria Davis and Jalaska Beason all of Prentiss; one brother, Demontrez Rhodes of Prentiss; grandparents, Velma Davis (Anthony Armstrong) of Gulfport; Debbie Williams of Prentiss; Mattie Walker of Jackson; Michael Davis of Prentiss and Jerry Beason of Laurel; special great-grandmother, Julia Mae Sands of Prentiss; many other relatives and friends and special friend, Alondra Jackson of Collins.
