Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at Greater Sweet Beulah Church of God in Christ in Prentiss for Mr. Charlie C. Fairley, 78, who died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, at his residence. Elder Leroy White, pastor, officiated with interment following at Golden Gate Cemetery in Prentiss.
Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Charlie C. Fairley was born to the late Alonzo and Lucille Fairley Hartzog in Prentiss. He attended school at J. E. Johnson High School After high school, he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana and began working in construction. He was a member of Greater Sweet Beulah Church of God in Christ.
He was preceded in death by Lonnie C. Hartzog, M. C. Hartzog, Virgie White, Jesse J. Hartzog, Maureen Maye, Hazel Hooker, Cleveland Hartzog and Lucy Hartzog.
He is survived by three sisters, Betty (Roscoe) Price of Prentiss; Mary (Elijah) Barnes of Silver Creek; and Rutha Fairley of Magee; brother, John Fairley of Jackson; special niece, Veronica Hooker of Prentiss; close friend, Raymond McInnis and many other relatives and friends.
Troy Youngblood Jr.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at Prentiss First Missionary Baptist Church, Prentiss for Mr. Troy Youngblood Jr., 60, who died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Medical Center in Jackson. Bishop Kevin Youngblood officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.

Mr. Troy Youngblood was born to the late Troy Youngblood Sr. and Vearmell Youngblood. He accepted Christ at a young age and joined Prentiss First Baptist Church. He graduated from Prentiss High School and enlisted in the United States Army in 1982.
He served over 9 years as a 312K20-Combat Signaler. During his enlistment, he was deployed to Desert Storm from December 1990 to May of 1991. He received a Bronze Star for deployment.
After Troy’s honorable discharge, he worked for the Special Response Team as a security supervisor for 19 years and AFIMAC Global as a supervisory for almost TWO years before his health failed began to fail.
He enjoyed cooking, sporting events, spending time with is furbaby, Kobe and he was a die-hard Houston Texan and Los Angeles Louisianakers fan.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald Youngblood; sister, Brenda White; nephew, Leroy White, Jr., brother-in-law, Derek Polk; cousins, aunts and uncles.
He is survived by former spouse, Samantha Youngblood of Ashland, Kentucky; son, Troy D. Vital of St. Louis, Missouri; brothers, Ronald Youngblood and Bishop Kevin (Kaneshia) Youngblood both of Prentiss; Steven (Shay) Youngblood and Kevin Younglood both of Biloxi; sisters, Dr. Latonya Polk of Flora; Sonya (Oliver) Presley of Madison; aunt, Mary Alice Jacobs of Memphis, Tennessee and many other relatives and friends.
