‘It was definitely a class act’

PHOTOS SUBMITTED The Lawrence County varsity cheerleaders presented the Jefferson Davis County varsity cheerleaders a sign and remembrance ribbons in memory of JDCHS football player Domanick Stewart.

The Jefferson Davis County High School varsity cheerleaders were met with a special gift Friday night when they arrived in Monticello at Lawrence County High School. The Lawrence County High cheerleaders presented JDCHS with memorial pins and a sign in memory of Domanick Stewart.

The Lawrence County cheerleaders also wore hair bows with his football number on them. Stewart, a student and football player at JDCHS, died Aug. 6 in Prentiss.

“We would like to extend a special thank you to the Lawrence County cheerleaders and their coaches for such a thoughtful gift,” said JDCHS Varsity Cheer Coach Kim Rhodes. “It was definitely a class act!”
