Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at Ruby K. Johnson Chapel for Mrs. Catherine Collins Adams, 80, who died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at Jefferson Davis Community Extended Care Facility in Prentiss.

Elder Leroy White officiated with interment following at Golden Gate Cemetery in Prentiss.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Catherine Adams was born to the late Robert Collins and Essie Fair. She attended Prentiss Institute and was a member of Sweet Beulah Church of God in Christ. 

She was a cook at a local cafe for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Adams; son, Vermell Collins; sister, Evelyn Fair; brother, Charles Fair and brother-in-law, Homer Herring.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Lee Collins of Columbia; sister, Missionary Gloria Herring of Prentiss; two brothers, James (Rose) Fair of Prentiss, and Willie J. Ross of Bassfield; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
