A reward is now being offered by Crimestoppers for any information leading to an arrest in the murder of Rodrigues ‘Slice’ Adams.
Multiple calls came in to the Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Department just after midnight Dec. 1 that there had been shots fired in Bassfield and one was injured.
Jefferson Davis County Deputies found Adams, 43, of Carson, dead on the scene when they arrived. He was lying in a driveway.
According to JDC Investigator Vernon Dampier, there was a party and bonfire at 538 Bassfield Cemetery Road where the incident occurred.
Dampier says witnesses on the scene stated there were approximately 200 people at the bonfire, but no one saw anything. It was reported several witnesses heard two or three shots fired.
Dampier also noted there are two possible suspects, but no one is in custody at this time.
“We are working diligently to make sure the person responsible is apprehended as soon as possible,” said Dampier.
If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Department at 601-792-5169 or Crimestoppers at 601-582-7867. Callers to Crimestoppers will remain anonymous.
