Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at Sweetwater Methodist Church in Bassfield for Miss Alaina Robrielle McLeod, 32, who died Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, in Lamar County.
Rev. Dr. Jason McLeod officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.
Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Miss Alaina McLeod was born the second child to Robin D. McLeod and the late Charles Reese, Jr. She was reared by her godmother, Carolyn Booth.
She was blessed with extended family support by her additional god parents, Rev. Mario and Anquenetta Graves along with James and Mildred Faye Graves Price.
She was a member of Sweetwater Methodist Church; she attended Bassfield Elementary and High School, where she was a graduate of the Class of 2010.
She was an honor student, member of Ivy Pearls and a Yellow Jacket Majorette.
She completed her certification in both Medical Billing and Coding as well as Phlebotomy.
She was serving as a United States Postal Service Rural Carrier Associate at the Sumrall Post Office, Sumrall.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Reese III and D’Mario Williams; grandparents, Annie P. Graves-McLeod, James R. McLaurin and Charles Reese Sr., godmother, Carolyn Booth and godfather, Rev. Mario Graves.
She is survived by her daughter, Choloe Mcleod; son, Channing McLeod both of Hattiesburg; mother, Robin McLeod of Seminary; sisters, Ariana “Dana” (Zachary) Reese, Kenyatta (Terrell) Buckley and Kaneisha Myers; brothers, Shane McLeod, Felix McCullum Jr. Zayshun Ducksworth and Javario Hooker; paternal grandmother, Cassie Reese; godchildren, Graisyn Graves, kashina and Cortez Newsome; devotees, James and Mildred Graves-Price; special uncles, Hulon “Sonny”, Darryl and Bryron Graves, Kevin (Lottie), Orlando (Nedra) and Jason (Ileshia) McLeod; godfather, Robert Baker and many other relatives and friends.
