The winners of the local JDC races from the November 2024 General Election were sworn in recently.

The ceremony was held Dec. 19 at 4 p.m. at the Jefferson Davis County Courthouse in Prentiss.

The Honorable Gerald Martin, 13th Chancery District Court Judge, administered the oath.

Those being sworn in were election commissioners Linda J. Speights for District 1, Ann Stringer for District 2, Towander M. Applewhite for District 3 and Mattie N. Lewis for District 5

Also sworn in was  District 3 school board member Nadine Thompson.

District 4 School Board member Shonda Burre Ard was sworn in at a later date by JDC Chancery Clerk Cynthia White.
