Derrick L. Barnes

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at Mt. Carmel M. B. Church in Prentiss, for Mr. Derrick L. Barnes, 46, who passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, at his residence.

Rev. James Dampeer officiated with interment following at Griffith Cemetery in Prentiss.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Barnes is the son of Junior Lee and Mrs. Yolanda Barnes. He was a member or Mt. Carmel M. B. Church of Prentiss. Mr. Barnes was a Gymnastic Coach and herbalist who loved animals, nature, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Junior Lee and Yolanda Barnes of Prentiss; brother, Errick T. Barnes of Powder Springs, Georgia; sister, Tamila Barnes of Prentiss and many other relatives and friends.
