The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a tornado watch in effect until 10 p.m. for Jefferson Davis County.

JDC is in the enhanced risk category, with the possibility of  damaging winds up to 70 mph and hail up to a quarter in size. Tornadoes are likely and a strong tornado can’t be ruled out.

The timing for the event is from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m.
