JDC Middle School students have fun with science

Kadeeisha Lott, a dedicated 7th and 8th grade science teacher at Jefferson Davis County Middle School, recently welcomed Sabrina Cummings from the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science for an engaging educational visit.

Cummings brought along a collection of fascinating fossils, captivating the students’ imaginations.

“The highlight of the visit was the introduction of a live baby alligator and turtle, which left the 7th and 8th graders in awe,” said Lott.

The session included an in-depth discussion about the origins of the creatures and their ecological significance.

“This enriching experience not only enhanced the students’ understanding of science but also sparked their curiosity about the natural world,” said Lott. Students expressed their enthusiasm for the visit and eagerly anticipated Cummings’ next appearance at the school. “The event was a remarkable success, fostering a love for science and a deeper connection with nature among the young learners,” said Lott.
