A mother and stepson were killed in the tornadoes that tore through Jefferson Davis County on March 15. Mary Suzette Tolbird, 56, and Ryan Joseph Tolbird, 36, were both killed with a tornado struck their home on Storey-Parkman Road in Greens Creek.

According to Jefferson Davis County Coroner Dedra Johnson, Suzette died while en route to the hospital. Ryan was found later and is believed to have died instantly.

Most recently, she worked as a nurse practitioner at Moss Memorial Health Clinic until March 7, when she moved to Greens Creek.
