Funeral services were held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Ruby K. Johnson Chapel in Prentiss, for Phyllis Gail Preston, 63, who passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital.

Minister Jerome Holloway officiated with interment following at Sweetwater Methodist Church Cemetery in Bassfield.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She is the daughter of the late Linda Faye Polk.

She was a member of Sweetwater Methodist Church.

Mrs. Preston was a former flagger employed at Blaine Constructions.

She enjoyed watching television, talking on the phone, and hanging with friends.

She is survived by: son, Teddrick Polk of Richmond, Texas; daughters, Kemeka Preston of Columbia; Lataya Preston of Prentiss; brothers, Gene Traylor of Portland, Oregon; Enoch Buckley of Prentiss; Hollis Ray Adams and Derrick Adams both of Bassfield; sisters, Pamela Bishop and Jacqueline Buckley both of Los Angeles, California; Latarsha Traylor of Long Beach, California; Kimberly Buckley of Gulfport; Rianna Buckley and Nicole Holloway both of Prentiss; Teresa King, Doris Adams, Lisa Adams, Erica Adams and Sandra Price all of Bassfield; six grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
