Graveside services for Mr. Thomas Victor “Tommy” Dyess were conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, March 28, 2025, at Greens Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Andrews officiating.
Mr. Dyess, age 66, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at his home in Carson.
Saulters Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
Family and friends were invited to begin gathering at the cemetery on Friday at 3 p.m., 30 minutes prior to the service.
Pallbearers included Allen Dyess, Matthew Dyess, Van Wilson, David Wilson, Gary Dyess and Aubrey Dyess.
Tommy was born on May 28, 1958, in Jefferson Davis County to Lloyd and Christine Bass Dyess.
He worked for many years for the M.G. Dyess Company.
A lifelong resident of Jefferson Davis County, he was well-known to everyone in the Greens Creek Community. Neighbors will remember that he was a quiet man who loved the outdoors and enjoyed his daily walks.
Mr. Dyess was of the Baptist faith.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Christine Dyess, and three nieces, Regina, Christy, and Tia, as well as his brother-in-law, Van Wilson.
He is survived by a son, Christopher Dyess of Columbia; his sisters, Virginia Dyess and Charlene McPhail (Thomas), both of Prentiss and Peggy Wilson of Carson; two brothers, Gaylord Dyess of Carson and John Dyess (Donna) of Kokomo.
