Funeral services were held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Shady Grove M. B. Church in Silver Creek, for Mrs. Annie Louise Gholar, 85, of Silver Creek, who died Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Rev. Michael Smith officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gholar was born to the late Samuel and Oree Hooker in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi.

She was a member of Shady Grove M. B. Church, Silver Creek, Mississippi. She was a retired laborer who loved fishing, cooking, puzzles, traveling, shopping and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by: husband, Charles James Gholar of Silver Creek; sons, Rickey Gholar and Rodney Gholar both of Silver Creek; Daryl Gholar of Hattiesburg; daughters, Wanda Magee, Beverly Gholar and Tanya Barnes all of Silver Creek; brother, Willie Hooker of Los Angeles, California; special child, Shirley Daniels; God-child; Robert Bryant; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
