Donell Young

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 17, 2025 at New Zion Baptist Church in Oakvale, for Mr. Donell Young, 66, who passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello.

Rev. Lakendrick Smith officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is the son of the late Caster F. and Mary Lou McClendon Young. Mr. Young enjoyed dancing, karate, and weightlifting.

He is survived by his sons, Jeremy Young of Silver Creek; Donell Young Jr. and Kyle Young both of Scranton, Pennsylvania; daughter, Donielle Young of Pittsburg,  Pennsylvania; brother, Tommy Young of Prentiss; sisters, Ella Taylor of Chicago, Illinois; Mary Young of Progress; Betty Young and Delbert Martin both of Oakvale; eight grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
