Mr. Louis Thompson Jr., 72, of Plainfield, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 in Edison Township, New Jersey.

He is the son of the late Louis Sr. and Vera Thompson.

He pursued technical training at Lincoln Technical School, where he developed a career in automotive service, specializing in transmissions.

He worked for over two decades at AAMCO and later at Cotton Transmissions and late founded American Transmissions.

He was a member of several faith-anchored and community-based organizations: Silver Bow Masonic Lodge #58 in Plainfield, New Jersey, Kingsmen Motorcycle Club and the Homestead Fishermen Club.

Mr. Thompson Jr. enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, hunting, dancing, and horseback riding.

He is survived by: wife, Joan Thompson of Plainfield, New Jersey; sons, Louis Thompson III, and Michael Mitchell; daughters, Denise Hallman, Schakara Anderson-Holliday, Selse Fort and Latia Thompson-McKoy; sisters, Dianne Taylor, Vera Davis, Pat Anderson, Brenda Sims, Veronica Sims, Eva Lois Sims and Pat Poole; brothers, Leonard Thompson, Johnny Thompson, Richard Thompson, Dwyane Sims and Ricky Sims; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
