Funeral Services for Vivian Anderson were conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss. Elder Clay Williamson and Elder Trent Williamson officiated. Interment followed in the Anderson Cemetery with Elder Harland Davis and Elder Gerald Givens officiating. Instrumental music was provided by her great-grandchildren. Mrs. Anderson, age 83, passed away Thursday evening, May 22, 2025, at Merit Health Wesley in Hattisburg. Saulters Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
The family received friends Monday from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Anderson was carried to her final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers. They included Craig Williamson, Jonathan Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Josh Burch, Hunt Hutson, Brett Williamson, Dustin Williamson and Braiden Sappington.
Ada Vivian Stuart Anderson was born in Lamar County on August 13, 1941, to Duval and Mary Polk Stuart. She was a graduate of Pearl River Community College, where she earned her degree in nursing. Vivian dedicated over 30 years to a nursing career that spanned numerous institutions. Her profound commitment to her profession touched the lives of countless individuals.
She was an exceptional writer and artist, often expressing her thoughts and feelings through poetry. Her artistic endeavors were a testament to her vibrant personality and her ability to find beauty in the world around her. Vivian shared her life with her husband, and together they were members of the Prentiss Lions Club, reflecting their dedication to service and community involvement. Her commitment extended beyond her professional and civic engagements; Vivian cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, nurturing and loving her grandchildren with a fierce devotion. In addition to her many talents and passions, Vivian had a deep love for her cats, finding in them companionship and joy. Her home was filled with creativity, laughter, and the love that defined her relationships. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Cecil Anderson; daughters Debbie Thompson (Timmy) of Clara, Darla Williamson (Ronnie) of Sumrall, Carolyn Johnson of Hattiesburg, Beth Burch (Jeff) of Mize and Marti Anderson of Bassfield; sisters Evelyn Broome of Sumrall, Susan Touchstone of Hattiesburg and brother John Stuart of Hattiesburg. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
