The Jefferson Davis County Soil and Water Conservation District in partnership with the Natural Resources Conservation Service hosted their first Specialty Crop Workshop last month at the Ezra Garner Memorial Building in Prentiss.

The group also traveled to the George Walker Farm.

Cooperating agencies were Jefferson Davis SWCD, NRCS, MSWCC, Jeff Davis BOS, ASU and FSA.

Speakers for the event were Elvert Cole, NRCS District Conservationist Allen Ross, NRCS Area Technician, Caroline Banks, Alcorn State University and George Walker, landowner and Tamera Williams from FSA.
