Charles Hicks II and Kristin Walden represented Jefferson Davis County 4-H at the 2025 4-H Club Congress held on the Mississippi State University campus in May.
Hicks and Walden both gave dynamic presentations. Hicks competed and placed first in the health visual presentation category and Kristin competed and placed fourth in the engineering visual presentation category. For both, this was their first year attending. “Attending such a significant event requires courage and commitment, and their success is a testament to their exceptional efforts,” said Latonya Ramsey- Chandler, JDC County Coordinator and MSU Extension Agent.
“Their accomplishment not only brings pride to our community, but serves as an inspiration to others to see their talents and determination recognized on a prestigious platform,” she said.

The event is open yearly to all registered 4-H’ers ages 14-18 years old.
Those interested in 4-H are welcomed to join in 2026.
