Silas Myers

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Sweetwater CME Church in Bassfield, for Mr. Silas Myers, 81, of Bassfield, who passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Bedford Care Center in Hattiesburg.

Rev. Benjamin Barnes officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is the son of the late Pleas Myers Sr. and Nora Bass Myers. He was a member of Sweetwater CME Church in Bassfield.

Mr. Myers was a cement contractor.

He enjoyed fishing, family, and really enjoyed life.

He is survived by his sons, Silas A. Myers of Hattiesburg; Daryl Myers of Bassfield; daughter, Sheila Edwards of Mendenhall; children he raised as his own, Eddie Hathorn, Leroy Myers and Frances Hall; sister, Nannie Lou Harper of Picayune;five grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
