Funeral services for Paul H. Farr Jr. were conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following in the Prentiss Cemetery.
Dr. Charles Baxter Kruger officiated, assisted by Dr. French Tripp.
Mr. Farr, age 84, entered into his eternal rest on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at The Blake of Flowood. Saulters Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
The family received friends on Monday afternoon, July 14, 2025, from noon until the hour of service at 2 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.
Mr. Farr was carried to his final resting place by those honored to serve as pallbearers.
They included B. J. Hailey, Paul Jackson Hailey, Paul Jacob Farr, Joseph Rush, Eric Napier and Colin Baker. Serving as honorary pallbearers were John T. Polk, John Girouard, Joe Rush and Wayne Matlock.
Paul H. Farr Jr. was born on Jan. 28, 1941, in Jefferson Davis County to Paul H. Farr Sr. and Thelma Williams Farr, where he spent his formative years and laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work, dedication and a love for family.
A proud graduate of Prentiss High School, Paul was known for his outstanding athletic abilities, showcasing his talents on the football field at Pearl River Junior College, and later continued his education at the University of Southern Mississippi.
For 32 years, Paul dedicated himself to a career at Shell Oil, where he rose to the position of Drilling Foreman before retiring.
Paul’s love for family was evident in his decision to raise his family in Jefferson Davis County, later moving to the Brandon area to be closer to his grandchildren.
Known as Granddad to his grandchildren, they were a source of immense joy for him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
As a passionate outdoorsman, Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing, often participating in fishing tournaments at Toledo Bend Reservoir.
He was as an avid golfer, and enjoyed the relaxation and companionship he found on the greens.
Paul was a member of the Prentiss Presbyterian Church.
Paul H. Farr Jr. will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, particularly for his unwavering love for his family and his strong spirit.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul H. Farr Sr. and Thelma Williams Farr Baxter, his stepfather, Dr. Jim Baxter and his sister, Betty Farr Kruger.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 62 years Carolyn Farr of Brandon; son Kervin Farr (Angela) of New Zealand; daughter Phaedra Farr Hailey (B.J.) of Brandon; grandchildren Paul Jackson Hailey, Paul Jacob Farr, Rebecca Farr and Elizabeth Hailey; great grandchildren Victoria Farr, Lorraine Farr and an expected great grandson later this year.
