Holley Kruger Cochran has been named General Manager and Editor of The Prentiss Headlight and will succeed Karen Sanford who has resigned after serving in this role for two years.

“We are excited to welcome Holley to The Prentiss Headlight,” said Publisher and President, Otis Raybon. “Her knowledge and background of this county will be invaluable as she continues to lead The Prentiss Headlight into its 108^th year of service to the people of Jefferson Davis County. The newspaper is a partnership with the communities that it serves, and we look forward to Holley continuing to lead that partnership.”

“This has been a priceless opportunity, but it’s time for me to move on,” says Sanford who will depart mid-March. “Because this job has been all-consuming I haven’t had a chance to plan where I’m going next, but I’m sure I will take what I’ve learned here and apply it to future endeavors. I wanted to make sure the newspaper was in good hands going forward, and I think Holley will continue adding value to the newspaper and the community. “

Cochran, a Prentiss native with strong family ties, will begin her duties immediately. She is a 1990 Prentiss Christian School graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Science in counseling psychology from William Carey University. “I think a degree in psychology is extremely useful with any occupation, this one being no exception,” says Cochran.

She comes from a background in professional photography with her current business, Kruger Photography. She is the mother of three daughters, Anna Williams, Hollis and Culley and a member of Prentiss Presbyterian Church.
