An Antique Car Show will be held at the Prentiss Farmer’s Market lot across from the Long Leaf Trace Park as one of the special features of the Run for the Roses 5K event to be held in Prentiss April 12th. The show is free and there is no registration required for car owners. Just come, bring your vehicle and lawn chairs, enjoy conversations with other car enthusiasts as well and the other events of the day.

Dennis Bedwell of Carson states he plans to bring his 1931 Model A 4-door Touring Sedan. He calls it his “Al Capone car” and it is a beautiful example of the best of the time period. Restored almost to perfection Bedwell states the upholstery restoration is a source of pride done by Van’s Upholstery of Columbia. The tan cloth interior adds to the aviance of luxury and Curtis McNeil constructed the striking black cherry wood toolbox on the back from wood hewn from Bedwell’s Carson land.

“Top speed of this vehicle is about 45 mph,” states Bedwell.” I purchased it from Tommy Gatwood who was attached to it and reluctant to part with it until I made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. Brand new the car retailed for $575 and now is valued above $20,000.”
