During their February bi-monthly meeting, the Jefferson Davis County Board of Supervisors joined with Unity in the Community and deemed March as Clean-Up Awareness Month for Jefferson Davis County.
Unity and the Board suggests that every neighborhood in the county take the initiative to pick up trash, move non-running vehicles and fix up neighborhoods.
They are also challenging churches and their congregations, schools and their staff and students, and businesses and their employees to participate.
Contact your supervisor for bags and assignment of roads, or to give your location of cleanup.
Also during the meeting, the minutes were approved as was a solid waste assistance grant totaling $12,935.
There continues to be concern that PRCC GED students are not being provided transportation to the Vo-Tech under the plan made with Five-County Transportation. A meeting is scheduled with the Chamber Partnership, Supervisors, Five-County and the PRCC GED representative Terri Clark to get this matter resolved.
