Funeral services were held Friday, April 29, 2016 at Sweetwater C.M.E. Church for Mr. Leroy Myers, 73, who died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg, MS.  Dr. James Loftin officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr.Leroy Myers was born to the late Johnny and Virgie Myers in Bassfield, MS.  He joined Sweetwater C.M.E. Church at an early age.  He worked at Sanderson Farms in Collins, Mississippi for 42 years.  He was married to Frances (Tootsie) Myers for 47 years and three children were born to this union.

He was preceded in death by: 3 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 son, Kennis Myers.

He is survived by: wife, Frances Myers; one daughter, Kimberly (Greg) Barnes of Prentiss, MS; two sons, Vic (Edna) Myers of Bassfield, MS; Adrian (Toya) Myers of Hattiesburg, MS; two step-children, Marsha (Marc Welch of New Braunfels, TX; Chad (Toxie) Pounds of Hattiesburg, MS; two granchildren he raised as his own, Latosha Pounds of Raleigh, NC and Rena Pounds of Pascagoula, MS; one sister, Leverta (Jack) Hathorn; two godchildren, Renee (Larry) Bolton of Beaumont, MS and Stephania Jones of Bassfield, MS; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-granchildren; many other relatives and friends.
