Sunday morning I walked into Whitesand Church and thought I was in a different place! To be exact, in a cave of gigantic proportions. Now I am very claustrophobic so I had to take a deep breath. The last time I was in a cave I said I would never go in another! Bible school workers warned me not to go up the stairs to the classrooms if I didn’t like caves and I have heeded their advice, but I did enjoy the children’s choir singing one of the songs they used this week in Bible School. Yes, Bible School this year is “Cave Quest!” It was a great week for those children and leaders who participated.
Mark your calendars for our revival services July 24th-27th to be led by Bro. Malcolm Ellis, well known Bible expositor and preacher and music by Lyn Holloway of Carson. It seems that thievery in the area is on the rise again. I also had some things stolen from my flea market booth in Magee. Be especially watchful and please pray for these people. What they need is a good dose of Jesus before someone decides to give them some “country justice.”
Congratulations to the Prentiss Headlight for receiving first place Editorial Award and first place front page award from the Mississippi Press Association.
Monday morning I watched as the old Emmit Smith Meat Market building in Prentiss was torn down. Dianne Daughdrill, Emmit’s daughter, said there were a lot of good memories there and it was sad to see it go.
