Benefit held for Linda Allday

Bassfield and Granby Volunteer Fire Departments held a benefit Saturday for Linda Allday, who is currently battling cancer. Allday has been a part of the fire services for over 20 years.

The all day event was held in Faler Park in Bassfield, and included the sale of chicken plates, a 50/50 raffle, a gift card auction and an auction of donated items.

Live music presented by Shane Saulters, Randy Saulters, Gary on the drums,  and Mark Daley.

Members of the Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Department and the Prentiss Fire Department also contributed time and effort to the cause.

The benefit raised over $6100 to help Allday with medical expenses.
