JDC school bus involved in accident on Columbia Ave.

A Jefferson Davis County school bus carrying 10 children had an accident on Columbia Avenue Tuesday.
The bus driver was crossing Columbia Avenue at Third Street when the bus came in contact with a car driven by Jefferson Davis County school board president Von Norwood.
It is unclear why the bus driver was not taking the recommended bus route. The normal bus route sends buses from J.E. Johnson and down the by-pass. They then enter Columbia Avenue at the north end of town, turn right onto Third Street and continue to the high school. All children were checked and treated at the Jefferson Davis Community Hospital and released.
