Funeral services were held Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Mark Anthony Bass, 62, who died Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg.  Rev. Michael Bass officiated with interment following in the Wheeler Cemetery, Bassfield.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mark Anthony Bass was born to the late Doc and Verlean Pounds Bass in Jefferson Davis County.  He received his education from Bassfield High School and worked at Sanderson Farms. He was a member of St. Paul M. B. Church.

He was preceded in death by: one sister and six brothers.

He is survived by: one sister, Earlean Bass Taylor of Sumrall; Joe Bass of Sumrall;  Leroy (Joann) Bass and William (Phyllis) Bass of Cordele, Georgia; Larry Bass and C. L. Price both of Hattiesburg; James (Brenda) Bass of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; C. J. Mondy of Oakland, California; two aunts, Josephine Bass of Prentiss; and Cynthia Bass of East Moline, Illinois; and many other relatives and friends.
