Firetrucks from all Jefferson Davis County fire departments fell in behind Prentiss Fireman Chuck Pruitt as he made his way out of town early Sunday morning. Pruitt was on his way to Atlanta, Georgia, for cancer treatment after being diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma late last month. The Prentiss Police Department led the escort to the Covington County line. The Prentiss Fire Department is hosting a benefit for Pruitt at the Ronald W. Jones Memorial Complex on Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., with an auction beginning at 5 p.m. If you would like to make a donation, please contact the Prentiss Fire Dept. at 601-792-5198 or the Jefferson Davis County Fire Association at 601-543-5199.
