Ballots set for municipal elections

Ballots for municipal elections for the Town of Prentiss and the Town of Bassfield have been set.
Qualifying packets were due last Friday at 5 p.m.
Candidates in Prentiss will run as Independent candidates and were required to obtain 50 signatures from registered voters inside the Prentiss city limits.
Prentiss Mayor Charley Dumas is unopposed.
Candidates for Prentiss Alderman are Willie Davis, Patti King, Rudy McNeese, Hal “Moochie” Speights, Randy Stamps and Robert Young.
Absentee voting will begin April 27.
Prentiss City Hall will be open May 3-7 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. (including the noon hour) and May 8 from 8 a.m. until noon for voter registration and absentee voting. Regular office hours are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and closed from noon until 1 p.m. for lunch.

Candidates in Bassfield will run as Independent candidates which required 15 signatures from registered voters inside the Bassfield city limits.
Angie Speights Ladner is running unopposed for Mayor of Bassfield.
Bassfield Alderman candidates are Lisa Blount, Kathy Gentry, Will Hendry, Erin Lee, Grant Tyler Matthews, Ken Roberts, James Speck and Robert Thompson.
