Felecia Grubbs Reese

Graveside services were held Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Progress Baptist Church in Bassfield, for Mrs. Felicia Grubbs Reese, 60, who died Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at her residence. Rev. Eddie Dixon officiated with Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Reese was born to the late Litdell Grubbs and Mrs. Lovie Grubbs. She was raised in Bogalusa, Louisiana, and made Bassfield her home.
She graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1978. After graduation, she studied Elementary Education at Southeastern Louisiana University.
She was married to Burlyn Reese and to this union, two sons were born, Cody Litdell and Alex Correll Reese. She was a faithful member of Holly Springs Methodist Church in Bassfield.
Mrs. Reese was a faithful employee of Jefferson Davis County Schools, where she worked in many capacities throughout the years. For the past two years, she worked at Carver Elementary School as secretary until her health declined. She served as the computer lab assistant and assistant teacher. She also worked at Five County in Prentiss, as a coordinator for the elderly activities and Collins Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her son, Alex Reese; sister, Adrian Grubbs; brothers, Leroy McLeod and Charlie Johnson and goddaughter, Jasmine McLaurin.
She is survived by her husband, Burlyn Reese; mother, Lovie Grubbs of Hattiesburg; son, Cody Rese of Collins; two stepsons, Berlin Goudy and Christiopher Barnes both of Collins; siblings, Gwendolyn (Ronnie) Doyle of Slidell, Louisiana; Ida Ellis of Chicago, Illinois; Cassie (Dayton) Augustine of Los Angeles, California; Diane (Berry) Govan of Prentiss; Debra Williams, Gayle Evans, Shelia (James) Reese all of Bassfield; Jonathan (LaVentryce) Grubbs of Chicago, Illinois; Heather White of Hattiesburg; Burnadette Bradford of Bogalusa, Louisiana and many other relatives and friends.
