James “Jimmy” Carlisle

James “Jimmy” Albert Carlisle, age 62, of Prentiss left his earthly home Monday, June 1, 2021. Graveside services with Military Honors for Mr. Carlisle were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Whitesand Cemetery. Rev. Eddie Myers officiated.
Saulters-Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
James was born on July 7, 1958, in Hattiesburg to Lilly Mae Gatwood-Earley and Clarence W. Carlisle and spent a large majority of his life, in and around Hattiesburg with his mother, step-father, Joe Earley, brothers and sisters. Jimmy was passionate about his family, life, gardening, music and animals. Family meant the world to him and he kept in touch regularly, whether it was to just say “Hey, I love you” or check on everyone’s yards and plants. He was a fun-loving character, always ready to share his smile, huge heart and gardening tips. James was enlisted in the US Military from June 4, 1976, to Dec. 3, 1979, where he served as a Percussion Player for the Military Band.
James is preceded in death by his mother, father, step-father, brother, Phillip and sisters, Janie and Becky.
He is survived by his brothers, Carl (Marie) and Mike (Bernedia); sisters, Telina and Rina; daughter, Kristin and son, James Robert; aunts and uncles and numerous nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
