Veteran’s Day Program scheduled with special recognitions for Gold Star Veterans

The JDC 5326 NAACP Veteran Committee will partner with the Veterans Service Office in JDC to sponsor a Veterans Appreciation Day program on, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Longleaf Trace Park in Prentiss. The speaker for the program will be SSG. Chellie Payne. “Everyone is invited, and we hope you will join us for this special day paying tribute to our Veterans and their families,” said Payne.
Special recognition presentations will be given to family members of Gold Star Veterans.
Those from Jefferson Davis County killed in action in World War I and World War II are LT. W. B. McNeese, SSG. Victor Bullock, Pvt. Howard Rush, Pvt. Virgil McNease, PFC Willard Holloway and PVT. Louis E. Livingston.
Killed in the line of duty in World War II are SGT. Edwin McNeil, PFC. Joe Norton and Lt. R.C. Jones Jr.
Prisoners of World War II from Jefferson Davis County are Cpt. Morgan Whitefield, Sgt. Claude Burkett and SGT. George Truman.
