Lillian Nell Hooker

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021 at Green Grove Baptist Church for Mrs. Lillian Nell “Lit” Hooker, 75, who died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss.  Rev. Gregory Keys officiated with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lillian Hooker was born to the late J. W. and Ardie M. Hooker in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi. She joined Green Grove Baptist Church at an early and remained a member until her death. She attended school at Whitesand School and formerly worked at Edward Hyman Manufacturing. She enjoyed dancing, meeting people, yard work, and spending time with nieces and nephews who called her “Granny.”

Mrs. Hooker was preceded in death by a special friend, Colie Barnes; siblings, Pauline White, James Hooker, Mattie Ross, Willie James Hooker.

She is survived by two sons, Alfred Hooker and Stephen (Anita) Hooker both of Prentiss, MS; daughter, Patricia Hooker of Prentiss; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings,  Elois Walker of Prentiss; Melvin (Janice) Hooker, Belinda Butler and Barbara (Y. C. ) White all of Prentiss; a nephew raised as her brother, Winford Hooker of Prentiss and many other relatives and friends.
