Mrs. Myers was born on April 3, 1959, in Prentiss to Eddie Gene and Martha Nell Baylis Douglas. Becky, as she was affectionately known, truly exemplified the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40 “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of my brethren, ye have done it unto me”. In addition to serving in missions in Mexico, she also served as “Mom” to many through her tireless ministry at Castalian Springs Retreat in Durant and also at the Salvation Army. Having a nurturing spirit, Becky received an abundance of joy in caring and feeding those that she came in contact with. For over 20 years, she served as a Licensed Practical Nurse in those medical facilities of the locales where she and her husband, Tim ministered. Presently, she was a member of Christ Congregational Church in Johns where her husband serves as Pastor.
Serving as pallbearers were Tae Devant, Nas Mabry, McKinley Lowe, Demarcus Friend, Alberto Rivera and Robert Trotter.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Gene Douglas and Nell Baylis Douglas.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband, Brother Tim Myers of Hattiesburg; two daughters, April Agerton (Jason) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sydney Myers of Hattiesburg; one son, Micah Myers of Hattiesburg; four brothers, Gene Douglas of Laurel, James Douglas of Flowood, Toby Douglas of New Hebron and Archie Douglas of Brandon. Her legacy will also live on through her two grandchildren, Parker Lee Agerton and Ashleigh Agerton.
The family received friends Tuesday night from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at New Hebron Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Castalian Springs Children’s Christmas Gift Fund. Castalian Springs Mission, C/O Lee Miller, 121 Saint David’s Way, Madison 39110.
