Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at New Jerusalem Pentecostal Apostolic Church in Bassfield, for Mr. Moses Hinto Jr., 71, who died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.  Rev. Melvin Hudson officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hinton was born to the late Annie Lee Hinton and Moses Hinton Sr. He grew up in Bassfield, moved to Florida for thirty years and moved back to Bassfield and worked as a block mason.

He is survived by his companion, Annie Bell Moses; four children, Coretta Buckley of San Diego, CA; Theresa McInnis of Prentiss; Richard Myers of Slidell, Louisiana; Devon Hinton and Brea Hinton both of Florida; seven step-children, Shirley Felix of Atlanta, Georgia, Wendy Myers of Bassfield, Robin Lowe of Gulfport, Charmaine Barnes of Bassfield; Wanda Turner of Columbia; Dekeisha Turner of Hattiesburg; Dequincy Turner of Bassfield; two brothers, Johnny Hinton of Bassfield and Don Hinton of Columbia and many other relatives and friends.
